Upper Amherst Cove and Newmans Cove are two charming and panoramic coastal communities located along Route 235 on the Bonavista Peninsula. With their shores overlooking magnificent Bonavista Bay, both coves provide beautiful, breathtaking views of Bonavista Bay, from dusk till dawn.

The fishing community of Upper Amherst Cove was established as far back as the mid 1800's. It was officially designated as a village in 1968. Perched directly over the ocean, Wolf Cove Retreat House was formerly the local post office, and is over a century old.

Home from Away, in Newmans Cove is located approximately 5 kilometres south of Upper Amherst Cove. Be sure to include in your fun-filled itinerary the annual Five Coves Garden Party, famous for both its local musical talent and delicious 'Jiggs Dinner'.
